From walk on to top wideout, Matthews makes East county proud

When you’re a walk-on, you get the same pads, the same film study, the same pregame spreads…even priority access.

But at some point, someone still has to pull out their checkbook.

“The cost of books,” Jesse Matthews said. “They’re so expensive.”

Matthews can scratch that off of his 2020 to-do list. In December, San Diego State officially making the wideout that finished second in receptions a full fledged starter.
