Funeral procession for Officer De Guzman Friday morning

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — Motorists are advised to expect delays on San Diego freeways Friday during the funeral procession for fallen San Diego Police Department Officer Jonathan “JD” De Guzman.

The procession is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. This will require the closure of eastbound Interstate 8 (I-8) from Interstate 15 (I-15) in San Diego to Greenfield Drive in El Cajon.

Freeway connectors and on-ramps along the route will be closed until the funeral procession has passed. Delays may last anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes.

Signs will be posted at various highway locations alerting motorists to use alternate routes.

A procession after the service is planned between 1-2 p.m. and will require a closure of westbound I-8 to southbound State Route 125 to southbound State Route 54.
