Gang-related stabbing

A man was stabbed in the torso and his friend cut on
his forearm during an apparent gang-related attack in Southcrest early Wednesday,
police said.

The stabbing in the south alley of the 4000 block of National Avenue was
reported at 12:40 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The victims, both in their early 20s, were walking when two men
approached them and issued a gang challenge, he said in a statement.

A fight ensued and one of the suspects stabbed and cut the victims with
a knife, he said, adding that neither wound was life-threatening.

Police described the knife-wielding suspect as Hispanic, bald, 25-30
years old, 5 feet 6 and 130 pounds, last seen wearing a white T-shirt. His
accomplice was a roughly 40-year-old Hispanic man, 5 feet 11 and 200 pounds,
last seen wearing a gray zippered hoodie, Delimitros said.
