Gas line ruptured near UTC
LA JOLLA (CNS) – Construction workers ruptured a two-inch gas line in
the vicinity of University Towne Center mall in La Jolla area early Thursday,
authorities said.
The accident in the 4300 block of La Jolla Village Drive, near Executive
Way, was reported just before 4 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue
Department.
A San Diego Gas & Electric crew was dispatched to stop the leak and
repair the line.
Depending on when the gas is shut off, mall operations could be
affected, authorities said.
