Gas prices are dropping in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell 1.5 cents Saturday to $4.059, one day after dropping 1.8 cents, its largest daily decrease since Nov. 9.

The average price has dropped five times in six days following an 11-day streak of increases and is 5.3 cents less than one week ago, but 4.7 cents more than one month ago and 30 cents greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has fallen 5.7 cents over the past five days after rising 14.6 cents over the previous 11 days.

The dropping pump prices follow a large decrease in wholesale gasoline prices, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
