Streak of decreases in gas prices ends
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – 8:14 a.m. – The 54-day streak of decreases ended Thursday as the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose two-tenths of a cent to $2.992.
The average price dropped 81.7 cents during the streak. The 54-day streak of decreases was the longest since a 58- day run from October 3-November 29, 2014.
Despite the slight increase, the average price is 3 cents less than it was one week ago, 40.6 cents less than it was one month ago and 68.1 cents less than it was one year ago.
Wednesday 7:54 a.m. – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped four-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $2.99.
The average price has dropped 54 consecutive days and 80 of the past 83. It has decreased a total of $1.246 during that time.
The average price is 4.6 cents less than it was one week ago, 41.8 cents less than it was one month ago and 69.2 cents less than it was one year ago.
The 54-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 58-day streak from October 3-November 29, 2014.
Tuesday 8:22 a.m. – SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped four-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $2.994.
The average price has dropped 53 consecutive days and 79 of the past 82. It has decreased a total of $1.242 during that time.
The average price is 5.7 cents less than it was one week ago, 41.7 cents less than it was one month ago and 69.5 cents less than it was one year ago.
The 53-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 58-day streak from October 3-November 29, 2014.
Monday 8:17 a.m. – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped four-tenths of a cent Monday to $2.998, the first time it’s dropped under $3 since Feb. 21.
The average price has dropped 52 consecutive days and 78 of the past 81. It has decreased a total of $1.238 during that time.
The average price is 6.2 cents less than it was one week ago, 42 cents less than it was one month ago and 69.4 cents less than it was one year ago.
The 52-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 58-day run from October 3-November 29, 2014.
Saturday 8:14 a.m. – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped eight-tenths of a cent Saturday to $3.006.
The average price has dropped 50 consecutive days and 76 of the past 79. It has decreased a total of $1.23 during that time.
The average price is 6.6 cents less than it was one week ago, 43.9 cents less than it was one month ago and 69.4 cents less than it was one year ago.
The 50-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 58-day streak from October 3-November 29, 2014.
Friday 1:26 p.m. – The average price of a gallon of gasoline in San Diego Country dropped Friday to its lowest amount since Feb. 22, decreasing eight-tenths of a cents to $3.014.
According to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price has dropped 49 consecutive days and 75 of the past 78, decreasing $1.222, including 1.4 cents on Thursday.
The 49-day streak of decreases is the longest since a 58-day streak from Oct. 3-Nov. 29, 2014.
"For the first time since June 2009, every state has an average below $3 per gallon,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
"The pace of the weekly price drops in Southern California has slowed to about a penny a day in most areas, but we expect many regions to still fall below $3 per gallon.”
