Gas prices plunge for 24th day
SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped today for the 24th consecutive day, decreasing 1.1 cents to $4.819.
The average price has decreased 57 times in 61 days since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, falling $1.616, including 2.6 cents on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 26.7 cents less than one week ago and 68.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 17.8 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price dropped for the 26th consecutive day decreasing 1 cent to $3.403. It is 14.3 cents less than one week ago and 39.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 4.4 cents more than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped 40.2 cents over the past 26 days, including 1.2 cents Sunday. It is $1.613 lower than the record $5.016 set June 14.
