Gas prices spike, nearing $4/gal.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular
gasoline in San Diego County recorded its largest daily increase since Sept. 2
Thursday, rising 3.4 cents to $3.944, its highest amount since Sept. 19.

The average price has risen 22 consecutive days and is 13.2 cents more
than one week ago, 22 cents higher than one month ago and 46.5 cents greater
than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information
Service.

The average price has risen 20.7 cents over the past 22 days, including
2.9 cents on Wednesday.
