Gas station robbed in Golden Hill area

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man robbed a Shell gas station on F Street near the Martin Luther King Jr. Freeway Saturday, police said.

Shortly before 8 a.m., a man entered the station in the 2400 block of F Street in Golden Hill and demanded money, according to San Diego Police Department Officer Frank Cali.

The man simulated a gun by putting his hand in his waist band.

The store clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, Cali said, and the suspect fled westbound on F Street.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his 30s, about five foot six and 150 pounds with green eyes, a mustache, a goatee and possibly a star tattoo on the right side of his neck with tattoos on both his arms. He was wearing a black shirt and black jeans.

No one was injured, police said.

Police said the robbery may be related to an earlier robbery that occurred shortly before 7 a.m. at a 7/11 store on the 200 block of Park Boulevard near PETCO Park.

The suspect in that robbery was described as a white male in his 30s wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a mustache, goatee, shaved head and tattoo on the left side of his neck, possibly a star tattoo, Cali said, with tattoos on both arms and knuckles.
