Gaslamp fight leaves one with serious head trauma
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A man was in critical condition Sunday with head trauma following and early-morning brawl near Horton Plaza.
The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. in the 400 block of G Street, Sheriff’s Homicide Lt. Mike Hastings said.
“An officer saw several people involved in a fight, and as the officer approached, participants fled the scene,” Hastings said. “The officer found an unconscious man in the middle of the street and rendered aid.”
The victim, identified by police only as a man in his 20s, was taken to a hospital in critical condition with significant head trauma.
“Police are still gathering information to determine exactly what happened before and during the confrontation,” Hasting said .
Police were also seeking a person of interest in the case described as a white man, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet-9 inches tall, and weighing 165 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray suit jacket and grey dress pants.
