Gillispie School’s annual blood drive

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Gillispie School had their 10th Annual Blood Drive and Third Grade Bake Sale today.

The event started after a Gillispie family was battling childhood leukemia ten years ago, according to 3rd grade teacher Erica Hurley.

San Diego Blood Bank said more than 325 pints of blood has been donated and more than $16,000 has been raised by the event.
