Graduation ceremony held for National City Fire Academy

SAN DIEGO (CNS) – The National City Fire Department will hold a graduation ceremony today for five members of its Fire Academy.

The five newly minted firefighters spent the 10-week academy learning about and training in every aspect of firefighting as well as emergency medicine and hazard response.

The academy is facilitated in part by the Chula Vista Fire Department and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, according to the NCFD.

“Through the tremendous effort and dedication of the academy staff and the National City Fire Department Training Division, these recruits are poised to begin their fire service careers,” the NCFD said in a statement. “These firefighters will continue the long standing department’s commitment to provide the highest level of customer service to the residents and visitors of
the city of National City.”

The NCFD will also hold a promotion ceremony for one of its firefighters, who will be promoted to the rank for fire captain. The event is scheduled to be held at the National City Fire Department’s headquarters at 343 E. 16th St.
