Hard Rock Café San Diego to close at end of 2017

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) — The Hard Rock Café San Diego located in the Gaslamp Quarter will be closing its doors permanently at the end of the year, Hard Rock International announced Saturday..

The restaurant, located at 801 4th Avenue, will be closed on December 31 as the company explores options for a different San Diego location.

Hard Rock International released a brief statement on the news of the closure Saturday: 

"San Diego is an important market for Hard Rock International, and we are committed to our presence in the market with the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. We are actively exploring other opportunities and expect to bring the café back to the area at the right time and in a new great location."

No further information was given on the reasoning of Hard Rock Café San Diego’s imminent closure.
