Hazmat crews called after white powder was found in envelope at downtown courthouse

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) –  The white powder that fell out of an envelope that someone opened on the 10th floor of the downtown San Diego Central Courthouse turned out to be non-hazardous, a fire department battalion chief says.

Emergency crews are clearing the scene of the emergency call-out in the 1100 block of Union Street, he says.

It’s not immediately clear what the substance was.
