HeadNorth Fund helps make home more accessible for spinal cord injury survivors

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – Eric Northbrook became paralyzed after a motorcycle accident in 2006. While undergoing his own recovery, he began the HeadNorth Fund with Sharp HealthCare, which provides wheelchairs, car and home modifications, and much more to people who suffer from spinal cord injuries and those who are paralyzed.

Approximately 100 San Diegans become paralyzed each year. Many of these survivors want to return to work and participate in the same activities they once enjoyed, but expenses in the first year following an injury can exceed $250,000.
