Heavy fog and high winds ahead of weekend storm

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – It will be mostly cloudy throughout the county Thursday with thick morning fog near the coast and in the valleys. 

High surf along the coast and gusty mountain and desert winds will develop this afternoon. A dense fog advisory will expire at 8 this morning. There is a high wind warning for the mountains, a wind advisory for the deserts and a high surf advisory for the coast will all take effect at 4 o’clock this afternoon.

Highs will be:

  • 64 to 69 degrees near the beaches
  • 68 to 73 in the valleys
  • 66 to 74 in the mountains
  • 74 to 79 in the deserts

By Friday rain could be in the forecast as a storm brings cool weekend temperatures and the chance of precipitation all the way into midweek next week.
