Hedgegrow Planting Day at Tijuana River Valley community garden

The Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County organized a Hedgerow Planting Day at the Tijuana River Valley Community Garden. Volunteers joined in the activities and learned about the benefits of native hedgerows and how to plant them.

Hedgerows – which are lines of different types of bushes/shrubs grown close together – can increase the beauty, productivity and biodiversity of a garden or property. These native plants will attract beneficial pollinators, use minimal water, and help provide wind protection to the Community Garden. Volunteers will learn all about hedgerows, while contributing to the health and beauty of the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park.
