Helen Woodward Animal Center’s PAWmicon, Cosplay for a Cause

RANCHO SANTA FE (KUSI) – Helen Woodward Animal Center is preparing for it’s 7th Annual PAWmicon with some exciting new event announcements this year. KUSI’s Allie Wagner headed to Balboa Park to the future home of the Comic-Con Museum Friday morning ahead of the Sunday, July 7 event.

The pet cosplay event benefiting the orphan pets and programs at Helen Woodward Animal Center shines a light on the superhero adopters who save a life when they choose to rescue and the rescue pets who save their adopters right back with all the love they give.

For the first time, the Comic-Con Museum is partnering with Helen Woodward Animal Center to host the superhero-themed event at their future home in Balboa Park.

Sunday’s PAWmicon event will feature five pet cosplay contests (including categories like superheroes, supervillains, pop culture pups, dynamic duos and comic canines), over 50 vendors, movie themed photo backdrops from the Science Fiction Coalition, activities for kids and trivia contests.

Tickets are still available at www.pawmicon.org for $10 online or $15 at the door the day of the event.

Details: PAWmicon – Cosplay for a Cause will be held at the future home of the Comic-Con Museum at 2131 Pan American Plaza, San Diego. PAWmicon runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
