High water bills result in changes at San Diego Public Utilities Department

The San Diego Public Utilities Department is making some changes after customers reported outrageously high water bills.

Employees will be re-trained and new customer service staff will be added to several departments. This was announced in a public hearing meeting with the PUD hosted by Councilmember David Alvarez. The city’s environmental committee is still investigating and working to fix the issue.

Deputy Director of the San Diego Public Utility, Brent Eidson, joined Good Morning San Diego this morning to give us a better understanding of this billing issue and what’s being done to fix it.
