Hillside Recreation Center in El Cajon will reopen Tuesday
EL CAJON (CNS) – A grand reopening celebration is scheduled Tuesday afternoon at Hillside Recreation Center in El Cajon, which has been closed for six months for renovations.
The 40-year-old facility’s gymnasium and exterior were remodeled, the heating and air-conditioning system was replaced, and improvements were made for the disabled, according to city officials.
The recreation center that serves the west side of the city will host a celebration Tuesday beginning at 4 p.m.
Mayor Bill Wells and members of the City Council will make remarks. The event will also include music and dance performances, cookie baking, and kids arts and crafts activities.
Funding for the project came from a voter-approved sales tax increase.
