Homeless advocate explains his opposition to Convention Center Expansion

SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – It’s a major upset for San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and a coalition of business leaders. The issue of raising hotel taxes to expand the convention center will not be on the November ballot.

Homeless advocate Michael McConnell wants the city to prioritize funding to ease the homeless crisis and he was here to talk more about it. McConnel was against the “Yes! For a Better San Diego” bill being on the November ballot. He believes it didn’t represent San Diego’s real needs. His full interview can be seen above.
