Homelessness survey to be highlighted at L.A. Business Council’s Mayoral Summit

LOS ANGELES (KUSI) – Findings from a landmark public opinion survey on homelessness will be taking center stage at the Los Angeles Business Council’s 2019 Mayoral Summit Friday at UCLA.

The new survey by Hart Research shows concerns among voters over the growing homeless crisis. It included 901 voters countywide and found that 95 percent of L.A. voters rate homelessness as the most serious problem facing the region, and nearly two-thirds called it “an emergency situation.”

California leaders will address a variety of emergency and permanent solutions, including ways to increase housing affordability.

Speakers will include the co-chairs of Governor Gavin Newsom’s Task Force on Homelessness – L.A. County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas and Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg, as well as many other public officials, philanthropic leaders and CEOs of major California businesses.

The summit will be Friday, Nov. 22 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
