Homeowner fires shots at suspected intruder in San Ysidro

SAN YSIDRO (KUSI) – A homeowner fired several shots at an intruder suspected of stealing tools from the shed of his San Ysidro home Friday morning but the intruder was not struck and fled the area, according to SDPD.

Dispatchers received a call around 4:25 this morning from a neighbor who reported hearing gunshots in the 3000 block of Glancy Drive near Camino De La Plaza.

Officers said a short time later the homeowner called dispatchers and reported that he had fired several shots at an intruder after going to check on a noise coming from a shed in his backyard.

The intruder fled the area in an unknown direction and police did not find any evidence that the suspect was struck by the gunfire.
