Homeowners detain suspected Bonsall arsonist

BONSALL (KUSI) – Some Bonsall homeowners chased down and physically detained a man they believe set fire to their house today.

The citizens arrest began shortly after a massive fire completely engulfed a single-story house, destroying it.

The suspect was seen and when questioned, began to flee before the homeowners chased him down and held him until firefighting and law enforcement crews arrived to the scene.

Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading and are currently investigating the cause of the fire.

Arson investigators have not yet confirmed or denied if the suspect was involved.
