WHAT: JACK IN THE BOX® 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
A San Diego Bowl Games Production
“Hoops at the Beach” returns for the 28th year. Teams will battle it out in San Diego’s largest annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The event is a fundraiser for the non-profit San Diego Bowl Game Association.
WHEN: Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2015
8:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. each day
Kids in grades 3-8 play Sunday only
WHERE: BONITA COVE PARK, Mission Bay
Bonita Cove’s parking lot is just east of the Belmont Park roller coaster.
The area offers a larg playing area for courts and the surface is recently paved and in excellent condition. There is direct access to the water and a playground, and is only a block away from Belmont Park.
SUMMARY: In addition to the two days of half-court action, the weekend festivities include:
San Diego County Kia Retailers Slam Dunk Contest (Saturday at noon)
San Diego Chargers 3-Point Shootout (both days)
UTC Aerospace Systems Free Throw Challenge (both days)
HORSE Contest (both days)
Sunday, May 3 is “Family Day.” Boys and girls in grades 3-8 will take to the courts and compete in either double-elimination or round-robin tournaments. Youth team entry fee of $50 includes t-shirts for each of the four team members and a day of family fun.
A limited number of complimentary entries are available for military personnel, courtesy of Wells Fargo.
