Horizon 58, Army Navy 6
Army Navy traveled 40 miles through the brutal San Diego rush hour traffic to meet up with the Horizon Panthers at Balboa stadium.
It was a night to remember for Panther quarterback Josh Gaudet. Gaudet went in to the night leading the county in passing yards and he did all he could to help add to his gaudy stats. Gaudet ended the game with 327 yards and 4 TDs through the air and 155 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. His first strike went to Anthony Oseguera for five yards after the two connected for 40 yards two plays earlier. Oseguera had a second touchdown later in the game as well.
The most memorable play of the night was Gaudet’s pass to Oscar Cordova. However it was Cordova who did most of the work, catching the pass and running 55 yards for a touchdown that made the score 32-6 in the second quarter and put the game out of reach. Christian Arlington also had a touchdown reception in the game.
Army Navy is now 0-3 and will take on Holtville next week in hopes of earning their first win. Horizon moves to 2-2 and will travel next week to Vista to take on Tri City Christian.
