House fire causes $350,000 worth of damage
SAN DIEGO (CNS) – A midday fire caused an estimated $350,000 worth of damage to a Mira Mesa home Friday and left six people in need of interim lodging.
The non-injury blaze in the 10000 block of Decatur Road erupted for unknown reasons about noon, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
It took crews about four minutes to subdue the flames, which were confined to a single bedroom, SDFRD spokesman Maurice Luque said.
The monetary losses were set at $250,000 to the structure and $100,000 to contents, he said.
The American Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents arranging for temporary housing.
