1 shot at Southern California shopping mall

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) — Police are hunting for an attacker who shot one person at a Southern California, where stores have been locked down and some people have been evacuated.

Police Officer Craig Durling says the shooting was reported at about 3 p.m. Monday at Del Amo Fashion Center, a sprawling mall south of Los Angeles.

Durling says it’s believed the attacker fled the mall but most stores are locked down until police can search them.

The Fire Department says one person was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The mall is one of the largest in the United States, with hundreds of stores.
