2 killed, 4 hurt, driver arrested in Beverly Hills crash

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Police say a driver has been arrested on suspicion of DUI after a single-vehicle crash left two women dead and four others hurt in Beverly Hills.

Officials say some of the passengers, all women in their 20s, were ejected from the BMW SUV after it apparently hit a curb, struck a tree and flipped over early Friday.

Two women died. The others, including the driver, were hospitalized with a range of injuries.

Television news footage showed the heavily damaged SUV on its roof in lanes in the area of Santa Monica and Wilshire boulevards.

Police believe some of the victims were not wearing seatbelts. Investigators say DUI and speed could be a factor in the crash.
