2 pedestrians struck killed by car in north LA County

LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles County sheriff’s investigators say one of two pedestrians fatally struck by a car in Lancaster may have been intoxicated.

The deadly accident occurred around 12:55 a.m. Sunday.

A sheriff’s statement says a man and woman walked into a roadway and the driver of a Chevy Cruz was unable to avoid the pedestrians.

According to traffic investigators, neither speed nor impairment were factors for the driver, and information gathered at the scene indicates the male pedestrian may have been intoxicated. It’s not known if the woman was impaired.
