$250 reward in a series of car burglaries at Mt. Rose trails

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Secret Witness is offering a $250 reward in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries along the Mount Rose Highway from cars parked at trailheads and recreation areas southwest of Reno.

Authorities say the thefts have occurred over the past two months near trailheads and parking lots along and inside national forest land.

Credit cards were taken during some of the break-ins. The Washoe County sheriff says investigators are tracking surveillance photos of a male and female using one of the stolen cards on Aug. 13 in the Reno area.
