3 arrested in fatal car-to-car shooting in Sacramento Valley

YUBA CITY, Calif. (AP) — Three people have been arrested on suspicion of killing a man and wounding another in a car-to-car shooting in the Plumas Lake area of the Sacramento Valley.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office said investigators reviewed surveillance videos in over two dozen businesses to track the suspects’ vehicle after the May 22 shooting on State Route 70.

They identified and arrested 20-year-old Avery Elijah Sanchez of Sacramento and 21-year-old Vivion Deandre Wallace of Yuba City on suspicion of murder.

Investigators located the vehicle and a third suspect, 19-year-old Juan Barajas of Citrus Heights, Thursday evening. He faces charge as an accessory to the crime.

Authorities said the victims didn’t know their attackers and were shot by occupants of a gold sedan after getting into a verbal altercation with them in Marysville.
