81-year-old California man suspected of killing his wife

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — An 81-year-old Southern California man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his 76-year-old wife.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department says Hyae Yu was found suffering from a gunshot wound Sunday inside a home in Victorville. She died at the scene.

William Yu was arrested at the home and could face one count of murder. It wasn’t known Thursday if he has an attorney.

The San Bernardino Sun reports Yu had been scheduled to appear in court Wednesday but he was not transported for unspecified medical reasons. He is being held without bail.
