A new album and fresh hits for ‘Game Changer’ Johnny Gill

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Johnny Gill says he might be considered an old-school crooner, but the R&B veteran is still making his presence felt.

Gill’s “Soul of a Woman” topped Billboard’s adult R&B songs chart in June and “Perfect” featuring New Edition bandmate Ralph Tresvant recently reached No. 22. Both are singles from his eighth studio album “Game Changer II,” which is now available.

Gill’s 2016 song “This One’s For Me and You” featuring New Edition topped the same chart.

The 53-year-old found fame as a member of New Edition in the late 1980s and later teamed up with Gerald Levert and Keith Sweat to form LSG. He also found solo success with breakout hits “Rub You the Right Way” and “My My My.”
