Authorities: 4 dead after rural southwestern Indiana crash

ELNORA, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say two children and two adults have died following a crash in rural southwestern Indiana.

The Daviess County sheriff’s office says in a statement that a vehicle was heading southbound about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at an intersection and failed to yield the right of way to a westbound vehicle.

The sheriff’s office says all four occupants of the southbound vehicle died following the crash, which happed about 80 miles (129 kilometers) southwest of Indianapolis. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital with a head injury.

Names of those involved weren’t immediately released. The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office didn’t immediately know why the southbound driver failed to yield.
