Body count rises to 5 in mobile home shooting, fire
SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have discovered a third body in the rubble of a burned-out mobile home, bringing the total dead to five in a shooting and fire incident last week.
Santa Maria police say Saturday the fifth victim was found in the debris. The suspect shot and killed two men at the Casa Grande Mobile Estates Friday and returned to his mobile home, which went up in flames after a small explosion. Authorities initially found two bodies in the rubble.
Santa Maria police say Kurt Bracke and Richard Hanen were fatally shot. The Santa Maria Times reports an argument between the duo and a third man preceded the shooting.
Authorities said the names of the gunman and the two other victims will be released after the coroner’s office confirms their identities.
