Boy, 13, found dead of possible suicide at school campus

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they’ve found the body of a 13-year-old boy who may have committed suicide on a Southern California school campus.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department says the boy had been reported missing by his parents early Tuesday and deputies were looking for him when his body was discovered at about 6:30 a.m. at Don Juan Avila Middle School in Aliso Viejo.

The Orange County Register says a school custodial worker found the boy outdoors. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The campus and an adjoining elementary school were closed for the day.

The school district says the boy was a former student at one of the schools but his name and other details weren’t immediately released.
