Bus driver sentenced for sex assaults on mentally disabled
SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California bus driver has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting three of his mentally disabled passengers.
City News Service says Jon Farris pleaded guilty Thursday to felony charges involving forcible sex with an incompetent person and was sentenced to nearly a year in jail or time already served. Farris was arrested in April of last year.
Prosecutors say Farris was a contract driver for a private bus company and carried disabled clients from the Regional Center of Orange County.
Prosecutors say the 6-foot-4, 230-pound driver sexually assaulted three women passengers in his parked bus in Tustin last year.
Tustin police say each of the victims had the mental capacity of a child.
