California man arrested for fatal crash in suspected race

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say they have arrested a California man for involvement in a hit-and-run accident that killed two people and may have resulted from street racing.

The Los Angeles Times reports that police arrested 26-year-old Jared Walter Anderson Saturday in connection with a double fatal hit-and-run accident Friday night.

Police say Anderson is believed to be the driver of one of two Dodge Chargers that were speeding in Sun Valley before colliding with a Toyota Corolla making a left turn.

Police say the Toyota’s driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Anderson is being held in lieu of $2-million bail.

Authorities say the driver of the other Dodge and her two passengers were transported to a hospital and the driver will be charged with murder.
