California man convicted of attempted murder for stabbing ex
BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — A Los Angeles-area man who stabbed and slashed his ex-girlfriend when they met to discuss their relationship two years ago has been convicted of attempted murder.
City News Service reports Tuesday that 20-year-old Jason Scott Gustin faces 29 years to life in prison when he’s sentenced in December.
Prosecutors said Gustin’s girlfriend broke up with him in August 2016, but agreed to meet with him a few days later.
While sitting in a car, prosecutors said, Gustin pulled out a knife, slashed the girl’s throat and then stabbed her in the neck and leg.
The girl, then 17, survived.
