CALBUILDING EXPLOSION
LOS ANGELES — Years before his ex-girlfriend and business partner was killed in a “targeted” explosion at the spa she owned, Stephen Beal’s wife died in what a coroner deemed a “mysterious case.” The Los Angeles County coroner’s office ruled the manner of Christine Beal’s death as “undetermined,” caused by pancreatitis, electrolyte imbalance and chronic lead intoxication. LAKE TAHOE-BALLOT MEASURES

USC GYNECOLOGIST-PATIENT COMPLAINTS
LOS ANGELES — A newspaper reports that two top University of Southern California administrators for their handling of gynecologist accused of misconduct while working in the school’s student health clinic. The Los Angeles Times said Friday the administrators were fired after it reported the clinic’s sole full-time gynecologist for years was the target of numerous complaints beginning in the 1990s.
