California woman pleads guilty to meth charge in New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A California woman has pleaded guilty to a methamphetamine trafficking charge in New Mexico.

Prosecutors say 43-year-old Tracy Estelle Fuentez of Fresno entered her plea Thursday in federal court in Albuquerque.

At sentencing, Fuentez faces a minimum of five years in federal prison and a maximum of 40 years.

She remains in custody pending a sentencing hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.

Federal drug agents arrested Fuentez in April 2017 after seizing more than three pounds of methamphetamine from her luggage in Albuquerque.

Fuentez was indicted the following month and was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
