CNN’s Ward says intimidation effort made on Russia story

NEW YORK (AP) — CNN international correspondent Clarissa Ward says this week’s investigation into Russian involvement in the Central African Republic came with a price.

She says she was trailed by four men while doing reporting and made the subject of a propaganda video accusing her of offering bribes to people to say something bad about Russia.

Ward says the whole experience was creepy but confirmed for her that the story made some powerful people uncomfortable. It also showed the lengths that someone will go to in order to discredit a journalist’s work.
