Collapsed flood channel caused Southern California sinkhole
LA HABRA, Calif. (AP) — Police say a huge hole that opened up between two Southern California condominium complex was caused by collapse of an underground flood-control channel.
La Habra police say no one was injured in the late Wednesday night collapse in a grassy area between buildings.
The Orange County Register reports that authorities were working Thursday to determine ownership of the channel, which was not a county or city structure.
