Constable: Children, 12 and 11, suspects in Houston crimes
HOUSTON (AP) — Authorities say 12- and 11-year-old children arrested over the weekend in Houston are part of a group of juveniles responsible for a series of robberies and related crimes.
Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap tells KTRK-TV in Houston that a third juvenile was arrested Monday and that additional arrests are expected.
Heap says in one instance a 76-year-old man out for an evening walk was beaten with his walking cane by four suspects who demanded money at gunpoint before running away when spotted by a passer-by.
Investigators say the group may be linked to crimes dating to last year.
Authorities are not releasing the names of the suspects because they’re juveniles.
A call Tuesday to the constable’s office for additional details was not immediately returned.
