Fewer than 100 now quarantined in LA measles outbreak
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fewer than 100 students and staff members at two Los Angeles universities remain quarantined following their possible exposure to measles.
California State University, Los Angeles, reported Tuesday that 70 students and employees were still under a quarantine launched last week after it was learned that hundreds of people might have come in contact with an infected student in a campus library.
The University of California, Los Angeles, reported 27 people still isolated after being exposed to an infected student in a classroom. The quarantine there is set to be lifted at the end of the day.
At Cal State-LA, the quarantine will expire on Thursday.
A total of nearly 800 people at both campuses were ordered isolated.
Those already released had been vaccinated or were immune because they previously had the disease.
