Fire burns downtown Los Angeles commercial building
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles firefighters have made progress in battling a fire in a commercial building in the downtown Fashion District.
The blaze erupted before dawn Thursday and burned through the roof of the building, which has multiple business units.
Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart says the blaze has been contained to about three units and firefighters have successfully defended adjacent buildings on the east and west sides.
An arson unit has been summoned to investigate the cause.
