Firefighters rescue naked suspected burglar stuck in chimney

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Firefighters rescued a naked man accused of burglary after he got stuck in the chimney of a Los Angeles-area home.

KNBC-TV reports Portia Woffard discovered the man Saturday morning after she heard strange noises coming from the Ladera Heights house across the street from her home.

Woffard says the man claimed he was in the chimney because somebody laced his drugs and people were trying to kill him.

Firefighters responded and pulled him out of the chimney.

Medical personnel check the man before he was arrested on suspicion of burglary. His name wasn’t immediately released.

Authorities say the man ran into the Ladera Heights neighborhood after he broke into a home in Culver City.
