Georgia men could avoid death in kidnap-slaying of couple

ATLANTA (AP) — Two Georgia men are expected to plead guilty to kidnapping and killing a pregnant woman and her fiancé while they were out on parole for other killings.

WAGA-TV reports the Fulton County District Attorney’s office says Andre Cleveland Gay and Richard “Fathead” Wilson could get life in prison Monday in the plea agreements.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports District Attorney Paul Howard had said he would seek the death penalty for the 2014 killings of 21-year-old Briana Brooks and 23-year-old Jeronta Brown. Authorities say the couple was kidnapped, shot and found handcuffed together. The seven-month-pregnant Brooks was able to give birth before she died.

Both defendants were out on parole at the time. Howard said they killed at least seven people in Fulton County alone.
