Hearing for Reno man accused of stashing daughter’s body
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A bail hearing is scheduled Thursday for a Nevada man facing a murder charge after police say he drove his 5-year-old daughter’s emaciated corpse to California and stashed it in a storage unit in May.
Police say 24-year-old Tyler Anderson’s malnourished daughter Cali had been dead in an unkempt Reno apartment for a week before he rented a truck, placed the child’s body in a duffel bag then left it in the Sacramento rental unit.
Anderson and his wife, Averyauna have been charged with open murder, child neglect and destroying or concealing evidence. They’ve been held in the Washoe County Jail in Reno on $50,000 bond since May.
Preliminary hearings for the Andersons are pending in Reno Justice Court, where Tyler Anderson’s bail hearing was scheduled Thursday afternoon.
